Experiential & Somatic Therapies
Experiential & Somatic Overview
Traditional talk therapy is only one piece of the puzzle. At CASTS, we implement specialized experiential and somatic modalities to help children release stored trauma from the nervous system, build emotional intelligence, and develop positive physical coping mechanisms.
Neurophysiological Deregulation (The Luxholistics Framework)
Grounded in the core clinical frameworks of Luxholistics, this approach systematically deregulates a hyper-vigilant brain and body. Traumatic experiences lock the nervous system into a perpetual "fight-or-flight" loop. By implementing specialized somatic protocols, we down-regulate the sympathetic nervous system, shifting youth out of stress patterns and into a physiological state of safety, recovery, and cognitive availability.
Fascial Unwinding & Deep Tension Release
Trauma and emotional distress physically manifest within the body's connective tissue network (fascia). Through targeted movement sequences, we facilitate fascial unwinding—releasing structural restrictions, alleviating systemic tension, and improving the body's global structural balance. This process clears the physical pathway for healthier neurophysiological processing.
Kinesthetic Awareness through Movement (KAM)
Children participate in curated KAM protocols designed to rewire brain-body communication. By cultivating conscious movement, youth learn to recognize their own internal physiological signals (interoception). This somatic self-awareness empowers them to intercept stress responses before they manifest as behavioral outbursts or emotional shutdown.
Clinical Breathing & Breathwork Engineering
Utilizing targeted breathing exercises as a direct interface to the autonomic nervous system. Youth learn to consciously modulate their breath patterns to alter their internal physiology—instantly lowering heart-rate variability distress, oxygenating neural pathways, and commanding immediate emotional self-regulation.
Therapeutic Yoga & Fascial Stretching
Clients experience the powerful healing impacts of movement, deep fascial elongation, and breath. This practice builds continuous mindfulness and presence in a supportive group setting, teaching youth to tolerate uncomfortable physical sensations and cultivate physical mastery.
STEM/STEAM Gaming Therapy
An innovative approach to cognitive processing and collaboration. Children participate in curated tech, math, and scientific gaming sandboxes where they learn problem-solving, distress tolerance, and cognitive flexibility under the guidance of a clinician.
Equestrian & Equine-Assisted Therapy
A powerful, somatic modality specifically curated for at-risk teens and youth. Working alongside horses requires absolute presence, emotional congruence, and nervous system regulation. Because horses naturally mirror human body language and emotional states, youth instantly see the impact of their own internal anxiety or aggression. This hands-on connection bridges communication gaps, breaks down defensive barriers, and fosters deep emotional processing, boundary-setting, and mutual trust that traditional therapy settings cannot replicate.
The CASTS Gameplay System™
A proprietary therapeutic system developed by CeCe Law that bridges the gap between safe online practices and understanding the game of life. Children work with their clinician—acting as their "Casting Director"—to actively choose, design, and step into their Main Character. This therapeutic sandbox provides the psychological freedom needed to navigate real-world challenges without past traumas holding them back in life.
Art & Visual Expression
In art therapy groups, children utilize visual arts to find new, creative modes to express themselves, decode complex internal landscapes, and process past experiences that they may not yet have the words to speak aloud.
Music & Acoustic Therapy
Children acknowledge and express deep-rooted emotions as they create, listen to, and interact with rhythm and sound patterns, both individually and in collaborative group dynamics.
